We are Talk Liberation, the software development house behind the Panquake social media platform.

In 2021, our crowdfunding campaign went VIRAL when thousands of grassroots supporters rallied behind the idea of Panquake with donations and much enthusiasm.

Talk Liberation swiftly fulfilled its commitments to the community, hiring its first developers, completing technical proof-of-concepts, and launching the Panquake interface design to enthusiastic public reception.

Unfortunately, this remarkable progress was soon hindered by institutional forces wielding significant legislative and financial power, but lacking transparency.

In September 2022, Islandsbanki, a banking partner of Talk Liberation in Reykjavik, Iceland, that we playfully call 'Bad Banki’ (banki is the Icelandic word for bank), unexpectedly and spuriously froze Panquake’s seed funding, citing money-laundering and anti-terrorism laws.

After a lengthy delay, Bad Banki finally released Talk Liberation's funds without adequate explanation or compensation, effectively exonerating the organization but causing significant damage to its budget, timelines, and growth potential.

And they would have got away with it, if it wasn’t for us pesky kids!

Talk Liberation are fighting back and holding Bad Banki to account! We are working with the same WikiLeaks legal team who successfully won a USD10 million settlement against an Icelandic payments processor in 2017.

We are demanding compensation for Bad Banki's damaging, unfair business practices, and disregard for our donors and community. And it’s not just about Panquake, it’s about principles that affect every individual who believes in internet freedom and fair treatment by financial entities.
